Monstera's are epiphytes, and their natural growing conditions are on the trunks of trees in tropical climates. Mimic it's natural environment as best as possible, and your Swiss Cheese baby will thrive! 
 
Light needs: bright, indirect light. Can handle moderate light but prefers bright. 
 
Water needs: water every 7 days, or when top 2" of soil is dry
